The Trans Global Projects Group provided complete logistics from worldwide locations to southern Iraq on behalf of our client, a major oil company. The cargo included pipe racks, pre-assembled modules and piping, totaling over 275,000 freight tonnes to support the major upgrading of an existing giant oil field.
Overall, we managed the transportation of more than 1,700 containers by air and sea to the destination country. Once arrived in Iraq, a 300-km road trip to the oil field had to be completed. For reasons of security, safety and cost efficiency, 24 barge loads were also delivered to site using the Shatt Al Arab waterway in what was its first commercial use for more than 30 years.
There were zero lost time incidents during the movement of more than 300 road convoys.
