Trans Global Projects Limited was recently contracted to fix the full charter of a heavy lift vessel to transport an unusual cargo item, namely a shipunloader.  Shipunloaders are used to discharge bulk materials from large ships cleanly and in an environmentally friendly way, removing problems of dust and noise pollution in ports where they operate.

The shipunloader was broken down into smaller sections for shipping. Nevertheless each of the main pieces still stood over 15m in height, while also requiring substantial transport engineering work to ensure that a safe overall load, lashing and discharge operation was achieved.  

The chartered vessel loaded the cargo in Zhangjiagang, China and only four days later safely delivered it to Ulsan, Korea. In Ulsan, the shipunloader was assembled directly to its operating position on the quayside from the deck of the heavy lift vessel.
